Why sustainable development must change the way they view collaboration

As I dive further into research and work surrounding sustainable development, I realize the inequities that go into it. We often speak about diversity, equity, diverse stakeholder engagement, etc. However, how are we engaging communities and giving people the resources to succeed? To that I say make communities the focal point and view sustainable development as human development.
